# Test and activate your agent

> Rehearse with Live Test, then go live with the Active switch — and understand how it differs from AI Autopilot.

Live Test lets you talk to your agent exactly as a customer would, before a single real customer sees it. Use it, then activate.

## The Live Test panel

Live Test sits on the right of the AI Center. You can send a text message, an image or a voice recording — the three formats your customers actually use.

### A five-message test protocol

1. **A price question in derja.** Check that the price quoted matches your catalogue.
2. **A delivery question.** Check that the answer matches your delivery policy.
3. **A request for an unavailable product.** Check that the agent offers an alternative rather than inventing stock.
4. **A complaint** — for example, the order arrived broken. Check that the agent escalates and creates a ticket.
5. **A complete order.** Go all the way through: the agent should collect the information it needs and create the order.

> **Testing consumes credits**, exactly like a real conversation. See [Credits and billing](https://support.unifunl.io/en/help/account-billing/credits-and-billing). Budget around ten test messages before going live.

## Activate the agent

Two switches, two levels. This is the most important distinction to understand:

| Switch | Where | Scope |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Active** | Top of the AI Center | Global. Your agent is online, or it is not. While it is off, the agent replies to nobody — this is the mode to stay in while you configure. |
| **AI Autopilot** | In each inbox conversation | Local. The agent replies on its own in that conversation. Turn it off to take back one customer without stopping the agent everywhere else. |

![The AI Autopilot switch in a conversation — it affects only that conversation.](https://support.unifunl.io/help/screenshots/21-autopilot-onoff.png)

> **The right sequence** — configure with **Active** off, test in Live Test, turn **Active** on, watch the first real conversations, and turn Autopilot off case by case when a customer deserves your direct attention.

## FAQ and troubleshooting

### How do I test safely before going live?

Use Live Test and leave **Active** off until you are happy with the answers. The agent will not reply to any real customer while it is off.

### What is the difference between Active and AI Autopilot?

**Active** is global: it puts your agent online or offline for the whole store. **AI Autopilot** is local: it decides whether the agent replies on its own in one specific conversation. Turning Autopilot off for one customer does not stop the agent for the others.

### The prices in Live Test are wrong

That is the catalogue, not the agent. Check the [product catalogue](https://support.unifunl.io/en/help/products-catalog/product-catalog) and its indexing state.

## What's next?

Watch the first real conversations arrive, and take over when you need to.
