WhatsApp deserves its own guide: it is the channel your customers use most, and the only one that supports broadcast campaigns. You connect it through the WhatsApp Business Platform (API), in **Settings**, then **Channels**.

## Two ways to connect

**You already have a WhatsApp Business account.** Connect the existing account. This is the fastest path.

**You are creating a new account.** The number must be brand new — connected neither to standard WhatsApp nor to WhatsApp Business.

> **The already-used number trap** — if you try to register a number already linked to WhatsApp or to WhatsApp Business, registration fails. You need either a completely new number, or to delete the existing WhatsApp account on that number first.

## Message templates

WhatsApp requires that any message a business sends first uses a template pre-approved by Meta. Your templates are in **Automations**, then **Broadcasts**, on the **Templates** tab.

| Column | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| Category | Marketing (promotions, offers), Utility (confirmations, order updates), Authentication (verification codes). |
| Language | A template is approved per language. Create one variant per language you target. |
| Status | **Approved** means usable. A pending template cannot be sent. |
| Variables | The placeholders in the text are replaced when sending — product name, price, discount. |
| Sync from Meta | Pulls in templates created or approved outside Unifunl. |
| New template | Creates a template and submits it to Meta for approval. |

> **Good to know** — Unifunl already provides ready-made templates for product offers in French, Arabic and English. You do not need to create one to launch your first campaign.

## Daily sending limit

Meta caps how many unique customers you can contact each day. The cap rises with your account's age and quality. To find yours, open the **Messaging limit** section in your **WhatsApp Manager** on Meta's side.

### How many customers can I contact per day?

Check the **Messaging limit** section in your WhatsApp Manager. The limit depends on your account's quality and age, not on Unifunl.

### Registration failed for my number

The number is already linked to WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business. Use a completely new number, or delete the existing account on that number first.

### Can I run marketing campaigns on WhatsApp?

Yes, through Broadcasts. Connect your WhatsApp Business account and configure the payment needed to enable WhatsApp campaigns — see [WhatsApp campaigns](https://support.unifunl.io/en/help/leads-automations/whatsapp-campaigns).

### My template is not selectable in a campaign

Its status is probably not **Approved**, or it does not exist in the campaign's language. A template is approved per language.
